Booked a queenbed room ..mattress was uncomfortable, needs updating. The heating is on top of the door which didn't warm the room up as there was a draft coming from the window. When I called about the lack of heating and requested an extra blanket it took a second call after saying I'd been waiting 2.5 hrs. Maintenance came the following day to sort the heating out, but didn't really make any difference. Found cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. No prior warning that the place was being painted so was stuck with the smell of paint for a couple of days. The staff do the job, don't expect service with a smile. Having stayed at the Coventry Holiday Inn recently, Leamington doesn't meet a similar standard.
I stay in lots of Holiday Inns, and unfortunately this did not hit the mark. The hotel is located either a 5 min drive or a 20 min walk from the town centre and is probably more fitting for people who are working locally and just need a place to lay their head.The room I was in was very tired and I felt that the hotel was dated, and even downstairs which looks relatively up to date was nothing spectacular.If youre looking for a hotel with a bit more oomph, then try somewhere else... if you just need to snooze, try somewhere else... not much going for it!
The rooms are spacious, clean with everything you need; including hairdryer, iron and board. Showers are great and you can control the heating. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is mostly quiet. The breakfast is very good, with plenty of choice. The dinner menu is ok, not particularly extensive though and I suspect some things are cooked from frozen. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms, food and drink are reasonably priced.
The room was had was quite small for four people (two adults, two kids) and needed more attention to cleanliness and maintenance. Staff was friendly and helpful and parking was plentiful. The food was decent and so was the bar.
So impressed with this place. Clean lovely rooms, friendly staff great breakfast. Had a great sleep in the comfy bed. I would choose this place over premier inn or travel lodge both of which I have stayed in. Absolutely no comparison. They could of charged me 30 more i would of paid and given the same feedback. Value for money.
